Cute story but….

Adorable cosy story until out of the blue the main characters school age child decides he wants to wear a petticoat. And there’s this big moment about loving him no matter how he wants to dress. He has been presented as being on the spectrum but highly functioning. The mom wonders if his behavior is connected to his desire to wear a red petticoat. Like what?

It’s just so random with no build up. It’s like at the last minute someone said add two sentences about cross dressing kids and she added with no changes or build up.

So bizarre. And took a wonderfully written story and made it weird.

If she wanted to add a storyline about a cross dressing kid there were better ways to do it. Taking her train loving son and making us believe all of a sudden he wants to 3/4 into the book sew and wear girl clothes is not it.
