Too many of the stories had modern viewpoints and values inserted as if they were normal and accepted at the time and the world perviously created that they are trying to connect to.

You cannot inject modern into period prices and expect to produce the same feeling

This was an interesting set of stories set around the world, but connected with a secret organization called the Scarlet Coterie. Most of the stories were very good if not great, but this collection does suffer from a couple of filler stories. However, for those who already enjoy the Arkham (of CoC) literature, this is an excellent addition to the collection and a nice departure away from the town of Arkham. Eldritch horror can indeed survive and thrive in the wider world.

Interesting Set of Stories away from Arkham

I really wanted to like these stories. There's not a whole lot of "creepiness". These are definitely more for "noir" fans. it doesn't do that very well either though

not very "Lovecraft"
