It's so difficult to break through sometimes. It's almost better to just leave him alone and he can figure things out for himself. Loved having this as an audio book because he was able to get through it and I'm just hoping it simmers. It's got everything a parent would want their young athlete to hear. SPORTSMANSHIP! This is one of the concepts I hope he grasps from this great book. Nice Job! Highly Recommend!

My mom bought me this audiobook after I lost my spot on the varsity team for getting into it with a teammate during practice. I'll be honest - I only started listening because she said I had to, but it actually turned out to be pretty solid. The narrator doesn't sound like some old dude trying to be cool, which is a huge plus. I listen to it while shooting hoops in the driveway or before bed, and each section is short enough that I don't zone out. What really hit home was the part about why we lose control in the first place - it explained the whole fight-or-flight thing in a way that finally made sense. If you're getting in trouble for blowing up or just want to chill out more, it's worth the listen.

This is an excellent listen for teen boys. Some grown men can benefit from listening to this book. I love that the language used is relatable to teens and introduces them to some very important topics that will help them not only survive but thrive in life. The exercises are also great. This is a must-read. When my son is old enough, I will listen to this book with him. 5-stars!
