Vance Westlake, a.k.a. the disgraced hero, Sentinel Remarkable, has been shunned by the hero community as a whole. He's fed up with being everyone's figurative and literal punching bag and he's nearly lost his faith in heroism. Deciding that he needs a change of pace, Vance leave Los Angeles behind and embarks on a roadtrip to figure things out and hopefully, find a sign of what he's supposed to do.

By chance or maybe destiny, Vance ends up Medford, Oregon and with a random encounter with sisters, Alice and Matt, it doesn't take long for him to run into trouble. Soon, he finds out that he's blundered into an ongoing, ancient battle between light and darkness with nothing short of the fate of the world hanging in the balance.

Facing down Deathknights and magic, Vance must once again assume the heroic identity of Sentinel Remarkable and utilize all of his power, skill and his 80s music playlist, to try to save the day. Is he up to the challenge or will his demons make him the victim of a real demon and doom the world?

I liked each of the characters and have been left wondering where the Sentinel's adventures will take him. I could see this becoming a series of books.

Great story, the MC kept me interested as did the narration by Erin Miller. Superhero action is awesome. The villain is interesting and unique. Left me wanting more! I recommend this and oh yeah, references to 80’s songs was for me perfect and added to Vance’s character. Good job on this!!

An exciting listen!!
