Can't wait till the second installment. The book was fun and the characters a hoot. More of a novella than a book. I enjoyed the family involved and the story.

Which character – as performed by Rob Saladino – was your favorite?

Kage

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I rarely read books in this genre but I really enjoyed the quick pace and snappy dialogue. The story left me wanting to know more about what will happen to the characters, and understand the things about magic that the characters themselves do not yet understand. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A great start

The storyline is centered around Avery, a 17 year old girl, and Kage, a new friend.

Kage and Avery have an immediate attraction to each other.

The book had a focus on family, relationships, and the descriptions through out the story were colorful.

Rob Saladino did ok with the narration.

A quick Young Adult read..

For most kids who discover on their own or are finally told about a long hidden family secret, It’s usually something that revolves around a criminal act by a family member that may or may not have led to prison. It might also be about adoption or infidelity leading to a previously unknown half brother or half sister. In “Shaded: Colored Lies,” the main character, a somewhat petulant teen girl named Avery, discovers something no one could have possibly imagined about her family and herself. From there, the story takes off. “Shaded: Colored Lies” is a novella and volume one of what I assume will be a successful, ongoing YA series. My only complaint is that it’s so good, yet so short, I wish there was an omnibus edition I could get hold of to finish the story. I hate having to wait for book after book to come out in order to finish a story.

Rob Saladino is an excellent narrator and a great choice for this story. He just adds more value to an already good story. Although I’m not bothered by it, I was surprised that the author, RE Danielle, chose a male narrator for a story with a female protagonist. Although I am an adult and probably not the target audience for this book, I think any adult will find it enjoyable.

An Excellent Short YA Story

The story starts with some background information about immortals. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and was disappointed when it ended. I'm looking forward to the next book in this intriguing series.

The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life. I was a bit lost at first but once everything was explained it made more sense.

Avery finds out her family is not as ordinary as she has always believed. She is coming into her powers and a lot is changing in a short period of time.

There is danger lurking around her and she is having vivid nightmares. Her family does not know what to expect. Avery has a boyfriend but she is very attracted to kage.

It is a good listen even though it is a bit short and a lot goes on in a short period of time. It is not a complete story. The last chapter opens up many questions and worries about what will happen to Avery. She is in serious danger.
