So, like a good boyfriend, I accompanied him to the rustic city of Big Bear, hoping for the best. I expected awkward moments, and funny looks from his family. What I didn’t see coming was having to hang out with his perfect ex-lover, Alexander, and for dead bodies to start piling up.

Working and living together, Thompson and I formed a bond I didn’t think could be broken. But when he starts doubting my abilities, and pulling away, simply because he doesn’t like what I’m saying, I start to realize maybe we were never as tight as I’d thought.

Thompson needs to decide if he wants to protect the past, more than he wants to join me in the future. He thinks I’m just scared of commitment, and so I’m causing trouble. But the reality is, Thompson is the person with one foot out the door.

Great Mystery With Romantic Elements And Heart-Wrenching Moments

This must be read after books 1 and 2. It’s an amazing addition to the series, and the best of the three so far. There were a number of times that I wanted to strangle Thompson for being obtuse, and other times I wanted to cry for Liam. If you’ve ever felt unsure, insecure or on the outside of a relationship, this one will squeeze your heart. The good news is, everything works out in the end. There were a few surprises, although I did figure out the bad guy fairly early on. However, even with that, this was entirely enjoyable and a book that I know I’ll reread. Narration was great, but as in book 2, there were some definite sound issues where you could tell things were recorded at different times because the voice would go from rich to tinny and back.

Captivating

This series is so interesting, really held my interest from start to finish. The narration is awesome as well, captured my attention. Hoping more to the series.

Hard to stop listening!

Shadows Deceive is the 3rd book and S. C. Wynne did not disappoint! Our heroes had everything thrown at them - meeting the family, jealous ex boyfriend, embarrassing drunken ramblings in front of the family, murder and of course a kidnapping. I enjoyed the ride thanks to Kale Williams amazing performance.

Good story. Good narration.

This mystery had just as many twists and turns as the previous volume. The relationship between Liam and Thompson is also filled with a few twists because old loves are sometimes hard to leave behind. So are certain creepy villains...

I was a little annoyed with Liam's attitude towards BDSM. He seemed creeped out by it which felt ironic to me because some people find his abilities as creepy as he found BDSM. Anyway...

If you enjoyed the previous two books, the mystery and romance in this one will not disappoint.
