Writer Colleen Hobbs is sent by her boss back to her hometown to cover the first murder the town has seen in decades. The victim is a man Colleen herself would have happily killed. She winds up trapped in a cabin, due to a flooded roadway, with Sheriff's Deputy Captain Chris Steele. Colleen hasn't seen him since they graduated from high school in 1986. He had been popular in high school, and Colleen was often the brunt of his jokes. She now was a beautiful woman unaware of the beauty she possessed.
