I could not put this down!

This was my first book by this author and it will not be my last! Gripping crime story that kept me guessing! I loved how all of the characters were written, even with the most hated ones. I couldn't put this book down and I can't wait to start number 2!
Steve West's performance was excellent! Every single character that was done and the range of emotions portrayed was so damn good! From the creepiest evil guy to the sweetest woman. Always a pleasure to listen to any narration he does.

Good story

Kept me guessing until the last minute, original villian and crimes. Highly recommend for fans of mystery and police procedurals.

An egotistical killer…who knew?

DI Ford’s 1st case, since his promotion, is a doozy…someone is committing murders and draining the victims’ blood. Ford has a suspect in mind except, the suspect has friends in high places. Can Ford outmaneuver a clever killer? Great story with excellent narration!!! Looking forward to the next book!

Narrator is way too effusive!!

The story was OK, not great. But it went from OK to this is driving me nuts because of the narrator. The narrator would scream adjectives and was just way too much of everything! I’m going to remember his name and make sure I don’t download a book that he’s narrating.

Steve West is outstanding in Shallow Ground

A very compelling and captivating mystery as Det. Ford and his team seek to solve the murders of seemingly unrelated victims. New to the force is Dr. Hannah Fellowes an FBI trained investigator with a few endearing quirks.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading other books by author Andy Maslen. I also highly recommended the Audible book by Steve West. He delivers another excellent performance.
