Shattered Lights
A Blaze Men Novel

She walked away years ago. This time, he can’t afford to strike out.

Ryan “Lights” Delgado had it all—a shortstop with blazing speed, a golden glove, and a swing that lit up the scoreboard. Drafted straight out of high school, he rocketed through the Blaze farm system, his ego keeping pace with every headline. Fame suited him. Women chased him. And when his high school sweetheart caught him in the arms of a cleat chaser, he told her it was just part of the game. She could live with it… or walk.

Ava Sinclair walked.

Now, years later, the roar of the crowd has dulled, the thrill of the spotlight faded, and the only thing Ryan can’t shake is the memory of the girl who knew him before the jersey, before the arrogance, before the mistakes.

When a chance encounter brings them face-to-face in New York—her hands dusted in flour, running the bakery she’s built from the ground up—Ryan knows he wants her back. But Ava isn’t the same girl who once waited in the stands for him. She has her own dreams, her own life… and a boyfriend.

Ryan’s ready to fight for her this time, but winning Ava’s heart will take more than charm and a batting average—it’ll take proving he’s the man she deserved all along.

Ryan & Ava were each others future until Ava walked in on him with his tongue down a cleat chaser throat.
She walked away after he told her this is what pros do and get used to it.
Ava walked away because she had pride, self respect in herself and continued to live her life and open a pastry shop.
Ryan never tried to find her, blamed her for leaving and was angry with her so, he made sure to flaunt females publicly.
Very immature!
Yet when he does see her by accident he clam “I still love you and never stopped”. To me if you love someone make things right and earn back their trust. Once a cheater always a cheater!!!
The author did a fantastic job by using a male and female virtual voice.
