Revolutionary Women

The text is very entertaining and I enjoyed hearing all of the anecdotes about women whose contributions to history were overlooked. However, I thought the narrator's voice was very annoying. She sounds sarcastic all the time. I understand that sarcasm is a tool to make us laugh, and I get it, but the tone of her voice makes it hard for me to take what she is saying seriously. Also, I wish the author would stay on one subject (each woman's biography) longer and go more in depth. Sometimes it feels like she is glossing over too many details and going too quickly. I would have liked to have gone more in depth with Hildegard van Bingen, for instance, or Sappho. I think I will just buy the book and read that so I don't have to listen to the narrator.

Horrible narrator choice!

I really wanted to like this book. There's a lot of interesting information in it, and all of the women are women I've never heard of. But the way the chapters are broken up leave much to be desired. And the woman reading? Good Lord, could she have sounded anymore boring while reading. The content could've been so much better presented, namely by someone who didn't sound like they were reading the local phone book.

The author is not polite to readers

It might be the great book. The author wanted to get us to know more about outstanding female leaders of the past.
But this reading is not for me. The author tried to be sharp and funny, and proves her choice of verbiage by “it is my book”. The wording used to explain the context of time of each great person from the past is really oversimplified and frequently rude. I consider
Myself educated person. The style of the book is not for me

For those who love to use B. Word when referring to the friend - probably you would love it.
