Sheriff Eli Hayes’ life is shattered.

In the town of Silver Lake, Sheriff Eli stands as a beacon of justice. Respected by his community and cherished by his loving wife, Maria, and teenage daughter, Emily, Eli’s life shatters when a gang led by outlaw Wyatt Ripley storms through Silver Lake.

Wyatt’s rampage ends with Maria’s murder and Emily’s abduction, thrusting Eli into a desperate quest to save his daughter.

Maria’s father, a Confederate officer, had hidden a cache of gold meant for the war effort. The treasure’s location is split between a map and a locket, the latter now in Emily’s possession. Wyatt, driven by greed, believes Emily holds the key to this fortune.

On his pursuit of the Wyatt gang, Eli crosses paths with Cass McGraw, a tracker and sharpshooter with a vendetta of her own. Eli learns of her tragic past that Wyatt has destroyed her family and home, leaving her scarred and vengeful.

United by loss and a shared enemy, Eli and Cass join forces, vowing to bring Wyatt to justice and rescue Emily.

Note: Each novel in the Western Justice Adventures series is a standalone story, with sprinkles of romance, that can be read out of order.

I try not to be overly negative, but this book, along eith the 4 others i struggeled through by this author, really had no redeeming qualities. There are maybe three different personalities in all and they all seem to have a hyper-nieve, insecure, personality with little grasp of reality. The story is basically a daily introspective narrative with little actual story content. At one point I got bored and in the middle of a "shootout" and switched to another book. Author is clearly not familiar with his setting, the outdoors, the west, firearms, or animals. I almost feel bad being this negative, but its the truth. These books were probably each written in one sitting without even being proofread.
