These classic Sherlock Holmes tales tell of treachery, murder, and theft. In "The Crooked Man," a long-lost love returns horribly changed, revealing an awful treachery that has been kept secret for decades. Sherlock Holmes's brother, Mycroft, appears in "The Greek Interpreter," to lead Holmes and Watson to a hideous murder and the betrayal of a foreign heiress. In "The Naval Treaty," an innocent man's honor, position, and health are at stake when a treaty of the utmost importance is stolen from his office. The stories are read by a true master, Edward Hardwicke, a talented actor who plays Sherlock Holmes's associate, Dr. Watson, as seen on the popular PBS series Mystery!Hear the other Sherlock Holmes collections in this series, or pick them up individually!Public Domain (P)2000 by The Audio Partners Publishing Corp. Critic reviews

"An outstanding audio edition (that) features the splendidly effective narration of Edward Hardwicke". (AudioFile)

2 chapters sound like they were recorded through a phone, otherwise Hardwicke does an excellent job

Iffy audio on 2 chapters

I'm not sure why, but on this particular recording (of all the Hardwicke Sherlock Holmes stories I've picked up from Audible so far), the quality is HORRIBLE. Even at the '4' quality level, it sounds very clearly inferior to '1' quality on any of the other recordings. My advice would be to skip this one, and pick up one of the other Hardwicke Holmes stories instead.
