One of the best Sherlock Holmes

Moreover as my title suggests, Watson is by far the worst offender… plainly put he not only sounds ancient, but he sounds absolutely plastered. Laughing after 75% of his own inane comments. Slurring. Babbling. It’s enough to drive one mad! Is that simply their attempt to convey slow wit? If so, than acting has come very far since those days.
If the obscenely American PETRI wine spokesman wasn’t such a *gosh darn* disingenuous nitwit, I would say that Watson ruined the show. Instead, I fear, I must give credit to both.
The storylines weren’t half bad, if you don’t mind knowing “whodunnit” 10 minutes into the performance. And the quality of the recording was admirable given it’s age.
This production, it must be mentioned, is not the only offender to these commonly encountered Hiccups among the Holmes pastiche. It seems to be a general trend, beginning “at the beginning” 😉, with the original examples of the cannon and subsequently injected as part of the formula into 90% of all adventures to follow. Regardless of author.
Why does Watson sound like an 85 year old drunk?
