This book grabs your attention and keeps it. Macy Modoc gets out of prison and comes home to two forks Texas. Blair Bishop is the reason he was put in jail to start with. Macy wants to get even with Blair for the past ten years. Another guy Clearance Cass doesn't like Blair either. They team up. I was pulling for Macy Modock at first. I like this type of storyline. A rich rancher running and controlling everything and everyone finds out there not as big as they thought. I changed by the end of the book and didn't link Macy. Macy didn't care who he hurt to get what he wanted. This is an excellent book. Jack Garrett does a great job narrating this book. I miss Kelton

I thought I read or listened to all of Kelton’s books. This was a great surprise to again listen to a Master story writer and narrator. It is brief but the characters well developed into a suspenseful and dramatic ending.
