I wish I didn’t know how one heartbreak can smash your world to bits. And really I wish I didn’t suspect it’s why there’s an edge to Lana’s sunshine smile. Hell, I wish I didn’t think of Lana at all.

I’m busy busting ass to be the best—and yeah, grumpiest—chef around. There’s a reason I keep people at a distance. My evenings blur with butter and basil and helping my brother. Trying to forget how he wound up in a wheelchair.

We’ve got our routine, and there’s no room for sweet smiles or blue eyes or…why is it so damn hot in here?

The thing is, Lana spins stories as a PR goddess. I’m all for icing cookies, but sugarcoating the truth? Never. Directness is best, even if it means awkward dessert dates that are definitely not dates, and embarrassing chats with my dog.

But one truth I’m terrified to face? I’m nuts for Lana. And the fallout could blow up our lives like a mug cake microwaved in a tin cup.

One-click this lighthearted, grumpy-soft-for-sunshine steamy romance about a surly chef and the sunshiny little sister of a big, messy, loving family.

How to be the youngest of lots of siblings and be the last to find a partner when you are from a celebrity family. The story was great and enjoyable to read. Enjoyed on kindle and audible.

I love when a narration like this one takes a great story and elevates it into something more. Juno Rhys and Aiden Cho did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

With a heartfelt storyline and a swoony romance, Lana and Dal just crawled right into my chest and made themselves at home. I think they might live there now. At first glance Lana and Dal seem complete opposites, grumpy-sunshine, brutal honesty-PR spinner but at their hearts they are so very similar. They are real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really just trying to do their best as messy humans trying to protect themselves and the people they love. Lana and her five famous siblings have started a reality type show, Juniper Ridge a self-sustaining community at a former cult compound where the community members live and work while being filmed. Lana is the PR rep for the show, the last unmarried sibling, and sunshine personified. Dal is a chef on the show who works in Serenade, the Town’s restaurant and helps care for his paralyzed brother out of love and guilt. He is epitome of grumpiness. There is attraction between Lana and Dal but neither acts on it until season 2 starts and Dal becomes more of a storyline and the chowder tasting tour begins. I was feeling all the feels with this one as they both dealt with their painful pasts, unpacked their baggage, opened their hearts, and took leaps of faith. As always with this author’s books, the story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. One of my favorite parts of this series has been the way the confessionals at the start of each chapter combine humor with hints about the topic of the upcoming chapter. It’s such a great method to advance the story while leaning into the reality aspect of Juniper Ridge. I am sad that it is the end of the series but glad I can revisit Juniper Ridge and the Judsons with a reread whenever I want.

I just finished listening to the audiobook version of this novel, narrated by Juno Rhys and Aiden Cho. Both of these narrators are new to me, and they both did a tremendous job with this fascinating and delightful story. This story has a very large cast of characters: Dal's brother and uncle make major appearances, as well as Lana's parents, siblings and their partners. Ms. Rhys and Mr. Cho made sure that I could hear all the differences and all the drama. Ms. Fenske supplied a great story. Juniper Ridge is a planned community that serves as the basis for a reality television series. Other than the chapter headings with those "confessional" interviews that were both tantalizing and aggravating, the reality show atmosphere was a minor element in the plot. Lana and Dal already know each other a bit, and their meet/cute opening the story is wildly amusing. Their chemistry is evident right away, and seeing the push/pull of their interactions is very engaging. Add a few family secrets, some miscellaneous public scrutiny, and a few excellent spicy scenes, and the result is a terrific audiobook experience. This is the last book in the Juniper Ridge series, and I definitely need to read the others soon.

Show Off kept me laughing the whole entire book, great for a road trip it kept me engaged with the banter between the characters. The plot flowed freely and I loved that it had just the right amount of drama, sibling, couple and parent. I'm glad the secret was resolved between the siblings with grace and that Lana finally got her man being the youngest of the brood.

Meet Mr. Grumpy vs Miss Sunshine. Dal and Lana have wonderful chemistry that they share and laugh out banter. The narrators told in dual POV, excellent job. I'm happy I had my earbuds in at times with the steaminess.LOL! This is part of series but can be read as a stand alone. A great conclusion to the series.
