Showdown at the Pass

Bounty Hunter Matt Carter is hot on the trail of Carl Monroe and his gang. Monroe has a big bounty on his head, and Matt intends to collect it. Unaware that someone from his past is on his trail, Matt escorts two prospectors, and a boy and his cousin, to Raton Pass.

But as the group is ambushed and the boy's cousin is taken hostage, the once peaceful trip turns deadly. Matt vows to get his group safely through the Pass but knows doing so will come at a deadly price, and a showdown is inevitable.

A well-narrated but predictable trope-fest

I've been a huge fan of classic westerns since the mid 70s, but this one was a little too predictable for my taste. From the story to the character dialogue, the whole thing seemed cobbled together using pieces of other great westerns, which this one certainly is not. The narrator's voice is very clear and commanding, but even that couldn't lift this story from the doldrums of mediocrity. I wish I could give it a higher rating, but the story simply doesn't merit it.
