When he uncovers incompetence at a Los Angeles city retirement fund, he chalks it up to typical government ineptitude. But after an icy encounter with a public employee union leader raises his suspicions, he digs deeper to find rampant corruption, and, beyond, a conspiracy to deliver California to a foreign power for the benefit of the state’s arrogant, self-serving, and depraved leadership class. After Redstone’s attempt to expose the conspirators uncovers an even wider web of sedition, the power structure of Los Angeles and beyond turns against him. Alone and abandoned, Mike once more must look to his own resources. With old and new friends and allies, he again sets out with amateur enthusiasm to disrupt the evil plans of powerful elites who seek not only the subjugation of his beloved California, but the certain death of Redstone and his friends.
