Mindfulness--the quality of attention that combines full awareness with acceptance of each moment, just as it is--is gaining broad acceptance among mental health professionals as an adjunct to treatment. This little book is a very appealing introduction to mindfulness meditation for children and their parents. In a simple and accessible way, it describes what mindfulness is and how mindfulness-based practices can help children calm down, become more focused, fall asleep more easily, alleviate worry, manage anger, and generally become more patient and aware. The book contains eleven practices that focus on just these scenarios, along with short examples and anecdotes throughout. These meditation exercises have helped us to better manage attention, anxiety, worries with my children. The soothing voice of the lady that narrates the exercises and the content of exercises are helpful. We got the hard copy book with its cd (it’s included), but having the whole thing in audio book in my phone works when we don’t have a cd player.

Exercises 1-11 are life savers!

This is a magnificent book to set a clutter mind at ease. It is a great book for all ages. Generosity and compassion modeled in a way that comes to life with the extraordinary narrator's voice. These are exercises that anticipate difficult moments in an anxious mind. The book is suited for anyone who needs many different ways of learning how to calm that part of the brain that gets on the way of finding joy or simply avoiding negative thoughts that could escalate into deep sadness. The narrator is soothing and kind.

The perfect calming voice....

I was intrigued by the title. Concept is good but, oh boy, it's dreadful to listen to and hard to remain attentive.

Narrator is too dull for anyone to listen to for any length of time
