Really interesting and thought provoking

This story of the six really grabs you from the start and doesn't let go. It's a well detailed alternate world with enough truth to make it recognizable. It's a battle of philosophy and power that keeps you guessing with every twist and turn. If you like science fiction, you'll love this.

Imaginative, Poetic, Intense

This is an intense listen. A mix of historical imagination, a hint of Octavia Butler, and some poetic moments. This was fun!

Captivating! Impossible to put down.

This was original in a way that only comes around once in a lifetime, if that. Hooks you immediately and leaves you wanting more. This kind of story telling is so lost in our modern age; it's beyond refreshing to read something that builds a nuanced fictional world in your minds eye while still honing in on realtime human experience. This is the focal point of being an avid reader - to become so immersed and lost in other worldly matters while simultaneously connecting to our truest selves. 10/10.

An original and creative take on superheroes

The alternative history setting is really clever and the author takes on the basic super hero concept from a fresh angle.

Beginning was kind of confusing but was compelling in the second half

First off I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review

so overall I enjoyed it. the narrator did a very good job, each character had a distinct voice and personality. the story itself is entertaining and decently written. The biggest criticism I have is that the first half relies on flash backs and flash forwards and there is no transition whatsoever between scenes. I felt that once the team was assembled and the story started moving in a more linear way, it really got good and compelling. I definitely hope there is a sequel, I think there is a lot more that can be done in this world. I just hope that in the sequel we get a little bit of a pause between scenes and chapters lol.
