I am a seasoned and picky Shifter Stories connoisseur and let me tell you...This author...this book surprisingly hit ALL of the targets.
True Love, Plot Twists, Badass Sexy Shifter Men of different species, Steamy scenes with interesting essences, and real life situations that happen when tradition meets choice. Let alone when Ones Soulmate enters in.... The spiritual homework done actually impressed my adult child who proudly follows the occult, and impressed me being a decades old student of a variety of spiritual systems. Well done Madame Author!
**I give Honest Reciews Only So:** Trigger Warning if you don't like Sex Aggression and Dominance read with caution on the steamy parts. Certain parts made me cringe a bit, but I got the necessity for the scene, character, and reason. Just putting that out there. There are only two brief instances though, so all good. It was Refreshing to see care shown.. and I'll leave that there.
Beyond that...I REFUSE to be a spoiler so all I can say in closing is...Give this book a chance. It was worth the download. Madame Author..for your first book, you did your big one. Please sign me up for your next. Because why did you do us like that? lol.
Awaiting Book 2 Please and Thank you!

First, I love the premise of this book in the sense of the mythical universe tied in with Native American fables and history. That part was spectacular. It was very different and not at all expected but much appreciated. However, that’s where the enjoyment ends for me. Trigger warnings in the beginning would have been nice going into this book so that I could have decided if I wanted to continue. I would not have continued. I do not like stories that include cheating. And I’m not into multiple spouses/ why choose. I didn’t care for any of the main characters. None had any redeeming qualities that had me rooting for them. The lore kept me interested. I loved that we had Samael, Lilith and 7 heavens. The story of that kept me listening. I wish we had more content on the lions. The MMC was a grade A jerk from the beginning. His tone and language when speaking to ppl was eww. The use of the N word was a bit much. The way he treated women was angering. The way he treated his wife and spoke to her was disgusting. The abuse he inflicted during intimate scenes was disgustingly disturbing. It felt as if he didn’t care for women and only saw them as objects to be degraded and used at his will. It was upsetting. The first FMC made really stupid decisions. She slept with her ex husband knowing he was in a relationship and then slept with the MMC right after learning he was married. Problematic behavior. The second FMC, I felt bad for during the book. She pissed me off in the end when she couldn’t accept her child because of her husband’s actions. I can see why it could be hard, however, an innocent child should not be punished. Although, it’s best that she admitted to not wanting her than mistreat her. This whole book annoyed me so much and I’m so mad I didn’t DNF. The fact that men could sleep with the chambermaids etc but women were only expected to sleep with their husbands and only allow women to service the wives, no. The fact women were told they basically had to just endure the pain of intimacy and mistreatment, no. I won’t be reading the next. I don’t care what happens to the characters at all.
The lore was interesting
