The City of Laketon, Michigan hosts a car ferry hub that crosses Lake Michigan to the city of Magawakin, Wisconsin each day. The ferry, also known as the Wolverine, crosses with a host of vehicles and passengers for the eight-hour round trip. Jude is a fair man who believes everyone should have a shot at second chances, especially when falsely accused. He is trying to get all the heightened emotions that are going around regarding Helen to calm down. This crowd might test his long-suffering attitude though, as he stands by Helen to try and weather the brewing storm.
