I bought the actual book and it's really good so of course I had to listen to it. I love it and I really enjoyed it.

phenomenal

I remember reading this as a child. I absolutely loved it then, and I love it even more now as a 19 year old! Julia, the narrator, is consistent with her tone and she gives the characters their own voice carries that stays throughout the book.. She really brings them to life. I dont want to give any spoilers, but my favorite part was their conflict with the flat faces on Smoke Mountain.

At first I thought Toklo was a big grumpy paws but now I’m warming up to him. TAQQIQ IS AN EVIL CRUEL DEATHSPITTING BUTTERFLY BRAINED RUDE EXCUSE OF A BEAR! 😡 I’LL RIP HIS THROAT OUT!!!!!! *buys gun and shield and looks for Taqqiq* I listened to this when I was getting over my mother leaving to hike the Grand Canyon. I spent the WHOLE night crying my sadness. The next night I kept whispering to her. “Oh mom… don’t leave me!”
