A fateful blow to the stomach would change Cynthia White's life forever, exposing the truth about her family's long-kept secrets. Born and raised in Winston Salem, NC, Cynthia, or Cee Cee as she is called, is raised by her father and grandmother after the death of her mother. Vernon does everything to make sure his daughter never wants for anything, providing a picture-perfect life and sheltering her from the hard streets that he once knew.

An incident at school changes all of this when Cee Cee meets Chuck and her hidden promiscuous ways are exposed. Will the one secret that she kept from her friend Chuck prove to be the deadliest, or will the secret that her family has been keeping be the smoking mirror?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this audiobook to a friend. The story was thorough and interesting. The way that Mike O wrote the book, makes you think that you really do know CeCe and Chuck. They could be anybody from your hood or school.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character from the book has to be Chuck. Not only is this dude involved in everything, but he's involved in EVERYTHING. Chuck is a real "F"ed up individual. I can't wait to find out what happens in book 2.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Perhaps the narrator could put more into the character voices. I didn't really notice a change.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When I found out who really killed Chuck's mom, I just remember thinking that was real messed up. His whole life was messed up and he didn't even realize it.

Any additional comments?

This was an amazing read and I look forward to book 2. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you on the best author's list one day! I know you can do it. You can do anything you put your mind to, and you've proven it time and time again. I'll continue to support you doing what you love to do. You're very creative ;). Start a book club!!!!
