I loved this book!

This was one of the best books I’ve listened to. I’m looking forward to listening to more books by Pete Hamill.

Just what we need

This atmospheric fable is spot on for late forties Brooklyn. ( I didn't grt there until the early 50's but the atmosphere rings true,) The fable is uplifting and "chicken soup for the soul."

A favorite of mine beautifully performed

I have loved this story since it was first published. What a gift to find it on audible and narrated with such heart.

A painful feel good story

A spellbinding dissertation on tolerance, intolerance & fear with a somewhat surprising ending. In fact the ending is a little improbable but leaves one with the feeling of satisfaction.
I recommend this book to everyone especially those interested in Jewish mysticism.
