Laugh as you learn about America's friendly northern neighbor with this step-by-step guide to Canadian customs, pop culture, and slang -- perfect for anyone who's considered moving to (or just visiting) maple leaf country.

Written by New York Times bestselling author (and born-and-bred Canuck) Jenn McCartney, this comprehensive guide will teach you everything you need to know about Canada, including:
  • History
  • Bewildering residency rules, demystified
  • Unique laws and customs
  • Contributions to the arts and pop culture (Celine Dion, Margaret Atwood, Justin Bieber)
  • Colorful slang, explained
  • Creative doodles, helpful charts, and fun graphs
Hilarious and honest, this guide will delight your politically disgruntled father, nudge your bleeding-heart neighbor to hit the road, and inspire you to plan for (or daydream about) your own Canadian getaway.

As an American emigrating to Canada in just 3 short months, I was searching for a quick and entertaining reference guide of Canadian culture and history — one that was specific and general with references to learn more. This book was absolutely perfect!! The author even makes references to concurrent US events so as to put the Canadian history into context. I am even more excited to become a Canadian after listening to this wonderful book. I also bought the paperback version after listening to the audio book since there are so many intriguing suggestions to explore.

Fantastic book. Specially for those Canada lovers who are planning to travel or immigrate there.
Although the book includes very useful information, it refers to Americans so much that it should have been mentioned in the title. There are many table-like information which makes the book not suitable for an Audiobook.

It is for Americans

If you are curious about Canada, I don’t recommend this book. This is a summarized FAQ that you will probably find better in the internet. I was expecting more about the country than superficial notes. In addition the book has a political side what makes it boring in many parts. At least the quizzes are funny.

Just ok

This book is really good. I just don't understand why it is so short. This book could have been a few thousand pages and she decided to make it a 2 hour read.

Too Short
