I found this book very interesting in its storytelling structure, and appreciated the interjections of family history. I am an avid user of these soaps and never knew the full story until now.
The reading was pretty good, though I did feel a slightly longer pause between major sections or topics would have strengthened the message a bit more. It’s not terrible, just don’t give me the moment to ponder I would have enjoyed.

I like the recipes in the book, though I did need to buy the print version to have them close at hand. Ultimately I found it helpful to bookmark the pages until I could copy down my favorites and keep them in my mixing room for when I most need them.
Parts of the story feel a bit preachy and off topic, yet in a small way also endearing, I felt the author was sharing a secret part of herself, take it or leave it. All in all this is a good book about a great bunch of products - with a deep - if unusual history I am glad that I know. Thanks to the author for this book and all the useful information.
