There goes the bride...

She's cautious, careful - and about to lose control of her future to a marriage of inconvenience. So, what can reluctant bride Katie McAuley do? Easy - let a modern-day prince charming spirit her away for a month to his Scottish castle. There she can take refuge from her overbearing family and finally figure out what she really wants. But the more Katie sees of Graham McLeod, the harder it's getting to keep their arrangement strictly business....

As McLeod clan leader, Graham had always placed duty to his heritage and people before everything else. Now with Katie as his "betrothed", he's finally satisfied a ridiculously outdated marriage pact to wed a McAuley descendant, letting him focus on more pressing matters, like preventing a ruthless relative's takeover of his home island. If he could just keep Katie's courage and honesty at arm's length, not to mention their all-too-sizzling attraction....

Would you consider the audio edition of Some Like It Scot to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but I would probably have liked it better.

What aspect of Chloe Lynn’s performance would you have changed?

She has a very pleasant voice and a slight Scottish accent. Unfortunately there aren't individual characters. She as the same accent no matter who is speaking....male/female, American/Scott. There were a few times that I lost who was speaking.

But it's not bad enough not to listen to. I do plan to pick up the others as well. It wasn't bad I just find it easier to listen to if character voices are established then I don't loose my place.

Any additional comments?

I did love the story. Here you had a Scottish hunk who was essentially a book nerd/professor type person who had to get married or loose his place as laird. The story developed rather nicely. I'll pick up the next one.

Donna Kauffman is at her best was a lovely story spanning two worlds and continents. Interesting believably characters set in a wonderful Scottish isle. Gorgeously narrated by Chloe.

Love the story the banter and the accent

Be sure to speed up the narration. She spoke slower than my Aunt Mabel and she lived in Laurel, Mississippi most of her life.

Kept being lulled to sleep by Chloe Lynn’s too soothing voice...she does great accents when I could stay awake and when there was dialogue, however, when it’s narration only...geez!!!...her voice is too soft and quiet...so, going to have to pass on the next book, and it makes me sad, ‘cause Ms Lynn really does do great character voices...
