Gripping

Ok when this story began I didn’t really love the voice actors and had issues with the male accent. The accent wasn’t correct, I should know, it was supposed to be from my mother land. But the story itself kept me in, and then somehow I didn’t realize when but I was completely ok with the voices and accent. Then I really fell in love with the story. I felt every emotion, every plot twist. Found myself yelling at the characters for dumb behavior as if they could hear me and I was a friend giving them tough love. This story really had a way of touching my heart. Sad that it ended but was such a joy. It really got me thinking about how we look at other people, that we may look at someone as a vilain but it’s hard to do that when we take the time to know their full story. This is a must read, and love the little bits about Haïti in there! 🇭🇹

so provocative

from the first line to the first chapter, you are consumed into the storyline like you are a part of the whole book. my gosh, these relationships and how the character developments evolved throughout the whole book was elevating. I had a tough time with the cheating... but I understood - it hurt to say it out loud, i understood the pain, sorrow, and then the growth that came from it. i had a goal of 70 books this year, and this my 70th book and hot dog it was fire 🔥 !!! straight fire.

Great Story!

This was my first time reading something by this author. She did a great job with the storyline. The narration was excellent! I can't wait for book 2.

Page Turner

I wasn’t disappointed at all. I enjoyed the book and didn’t seem like it was 16 hours because the book was just that good! One of a women narrators voice was annoying but I got use to it.
