Jack McCain's ex wife and current girlfriend are both trying to make him into something he doesn't want to be.

When Jack becomes the chance owner of a customized import car—one that reminds him of the high-octane dreams of his youth—he joins a car club run by a bunch of twenty-something tuner enthusiasts who don't seem to know very much about cars—except for their only female member that is. She knows plenty. One night she follows Jack home after a meeting and Jack's staid life takes a sudden and unexpected turn.

Soon, a screwball collection of villains including the owner of a gentleman's club, a Mexican drug dealer, and and a pair of neon-haired slackers conspire to take Jack's life off the rails. They want to establish a black-tar heroin business in the middle of Palm Beach, and Jack's other car, an antique Auburn Speedster his grandfather left him, figures heavily in their financing plan. Their spectacular and often hilarious ineptitude soon mires Jack in a predicament that seems more and more hopeless as it unfolds.

Will Jack lose his car? Will he live to tell the tale? A boatload of guns and the best of intentions may not be enough to win the day.

Speedster is a comedy thriller that runs full-tilt through South Florida. Tensions rise and bodies fall, from the walled mansions of Palm Beach to the mangrove labyrinths of Florida's Gulf Coast, this story will grab you by the belt and drag you into a world where a little fun is way more dangerous than it ought to be.
