The Hundred Worlds have withstood invasion by the relentless Hok for decades. The human worlds are strong, but the Hok have the resources of a thousand planets behind them, and their fleets attack in endless waves.

The long war has transformed the Hundred Worlds into heavily fortified star systems. Their economies are geared for military output, and they raise specialized soldiers to save our species. Assault Captain Derek Straker is one such man among many. Genetically sculpted to drive a mech-suit as if he wears a second skin, he must find a path to victory. It's a battle in which he'll never admit defeat, but not even Straker knows the dark truth behind this titanic struggle. With Lieutenant Carla Engels piloting, Starship Liberator explores enemy territory in search of answers.

I am partial to this kind of story but I feel they have done a amazing job with the storylineprogression. it really captures the imagination. You feel connected to each character and have love and sometimes annoyance with them just like you would with someone you know in real life.

Awesome!

Mark boyett is a fantastic narrator his voice differences for different people really helps me get into the story and know who is talking

I love b. v. Larson and Mark boyett is fatalistic

I usually like Larson's "mindless space opera" and the premise of this series isn't directly bad, but the US superiority complex projected upon this distant future fictional universe makes me ill. It's all here, the Nazis, the commies and the all American superheroes that knows a surprising amount of patriotic quotes considering how they according to the story haven't been thought any "old earth history". How about toning it down a bit for your international fans?

SciFi or US cold war propaganda?

Took on a completely different direction then what I was expecting. Usually I can follow the characters pretty easy but because new ones were being brought into the story at different times I lost sight of them other than the main 3. I still am looking forward to listening to the next one in the series.

Good book and story

I cannot put my finger on any one thing. Now that I have completed book 1 the overall story is something I should like with its story, and small time base and country building. I just couldn’t get into the characters and had to force myself through the first 24 chapters. Then I fast forwarded through the last 4. I think others might find it enjoyable, I just wasn’t able to unfortunately.

I guess not for me
