When grief becomes a sanctuary, letting go feels like betrayal. For six years, Dayna Baldwin has wrapped herself in memories of Catherine, her beloved partner taken too soon by a heart attack.

Now, Tegan Roberts has returned to their small town, trading lesson plans for the challenging role of caring for her mother with Alzheimer's. A chance encounter in a grocery store aisle sets both women's carefully ordered worlds spinning. When they meet again at a charity golf tournament, the attraction between them seems impossible to ignore.

As Dayna slowly opens her heart to possibilities she'd long since locked away, she finds herself caught between two loves: the tender ghost of her past and the vibrant promise of a future with Tegan. Now Dayna faces her hardest truth—that sometimes moving forward means letting go.

The first part of your novel made me cry, and cry, and cry. Thank goodness you moved on to happier time. This novel is worth buying. Emotions galore. I kink you not. Sorry, couldn't help myself. The story is sad but uplifting at the same time. If I were you, oh mighty audible cohorts, I would give this book a try. It is really good.

Not many books are about older women, this one is. Like me, in their 60’s going through phases of life… well written, loved the MC and narration was good as well.

Great book

Story was good… characters were also good… narrator has a great voice, but hard to distinguish what character is talking because voice is the same.

Narrator

Without a will or a power of attorney, a homophobic parent of a dying daughter can take away their partner of 15 yrs rights and belongings.

It has happened so many times and why I made sure when I was in a relationship with my same sex partner, I had both a medical and financial power of attorney drawn up.
