I really want to love it, but I only like it

I was really excited about "Steel Girls in the Blitz" by Michelle Rawlins but as when I got about halfway through the book, I could not wait for it to be over. The overall tone of the book was just depressing to me. While I have the first 5 books in the series, I may think hard before I get the 6th book.
