I enjoyed this book immensely. Having been a long time fan of the series, I was slightly disappointed with some recent books, but this one lived up to Ben’s standards.

The best in the series for a while

More wry commentary on the thankless nature of low-level police drudgery, more creative mystical mysteries, more good showings from Beverly Brook, spy foxes, and other friends. These books reward a second listen because of all the details, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith is a national treasure.

Series continues to be a delight

The Rivers keeps getting better. I enjoyed the twists and turns, magical creatures, and the role of Abby, the foxes, and Beverly, what a tableau ! The Nightingale is a superb teacher. The location and description of where the intense action takes place had me hooked.

Great fun, intrigue, and science

Love this series, and sniggered at the Trump reference. Unfortunately, it will be YEARS before people don’t get that bit. Thanks much for this addition to the collection, Mr Aaronovitch.

Great entertainment as always

Superb, as always. I enjoyed the additional narrator. Both are excellent with accents. Not that I really know!
The twins are a delight. Everybody in a new setting was a fun change. Looking forward to the next edition.
