The author: Alessandro Ghebreigziabiher is a writer, playwright, actor, storyteller, teacher, and theater director. In addition to his short-story anthologies—some of which have been translated into English and are available on Amazon through Kindle Direct Publishing—he is the author of around twenty books, including eleven novels, short-story collections, children’s fairy tales, and educational materials for schools. He is also the creator of storytelling performances, spoken-word poetry videos, a blog, and a podcast of true stories focused on current Italian and international affairs. His first book, Tramonto (Italian editions: Lapis, 2002; Tempesta Editore, 2017), was selected in 2003 by the International Youth Library (IYL) in Munich for the White Ravens list—an honor awarded to the best children’s and young adult books from around the world. He is a member of the Federation for European Storytelling, one of the coordinators of the international storytellers’ network Red Internacional de Cuentacuentos, and in 2016 he founded the global network Storytellers for Peace. In 2025, he received the Energie per Roma Award from the European Center for Cultural Studies for his “extraordinary contribution to the city.” For nearly thirty years, he has led workshops and experiential programs in theater, storytelling, and social animation in clinical and therapeutic settings—including addiction recovery centers and mental health services—and has participated as a speaker in numerous conferences on educational topics for professionals in the field.
