Kyle Riggs has been away from Earth for a long time… but that's about to change.

In Storm Assault , the eighth book of the Star Force series, the story moves in a new direction. Massive fleets are built by both Star Force and the Imperials - but there is a third player in the game: the Blues.

A three-way battle for the known star systems breaks out, with the fates of many worlds and species hanging in the balance. Riggs realizes he must destroy his enemies before they destroy him. Seeking justice and revenge, he gathers his strength and ventures out on a mission of conquest from the Eden System. Humanity must fight to survive, and Riggs is the right man for the job.

Storm Assault is a military science-fiction novel by best-selling author B. V. Larson. To listen to the series in its entirety, start with Swarm (Book 1).

B.V.Larson is full of great ideas. In short - great story (new stuff), great narrator and no boring character building.

Another awesome book of the series.

I am shocked. Fans who've been following the series know that Krowe needs to be taken down and now it's about to happen. But it's not JUST Emperor Krowe and the Imperialists Kyle has to worry about. The Blues have been up to no good and show their hand before Kyle and crew can even make it out of the Eden system to return to earth.

What new abomination has The Blues created this time. How can they possible return to Earth and overthrow Krowe? What kinds of traps has Krowe laid for them along the journey back? What new creatures will we meet? What woman will Kyle choose? What's Marvin going to get into?
.
This is what we've all been waiting for and it isn't predictable and doesn't disappoint. I can't wait for more. I missed Sandra though. What a loss.

As always Mark Boyett does a phenomenal job narrating. I really enjoy his voice for Marvin and The Blues. He really brings out the humor.

The Emperor must DIE!

Storm Assault is the book that we have been waiting for.. New technology is added here, and as usual you think that star force is going to end and that there is no hope for them, but some how they survive as usual..

But this book really felt like its the end of Star Force, few times i felt that the end is near, and they have lost, and i have truly believed that.

The ending of this book was fantastic, not going to say anything about it.. but it was really good.. This book is one of the best in this series in my opinion.

Its Not Easy Being Kyle Riggs!!

I went through all 8 books nonstop. Some were better than others and some of the reviews of other listeners criticizing the lack of growth in Kyle Riggs maturity, emotional management, and decision-making are accurate. However, for pure entertainment on long drives up and down California, the series can't be beat. Mark Boyett is pure genius at narration. Don't know if there will be more Star Force books to come, but I will buy them if produced.

End to a Great Series

If you could sum up Storm Assault in three words, what would they be?

Inevitable- the return to earthStrong- the storyline has perseveredQuirks- A few odd issues have started to appear

Who was your favorite character and why?

The self aware, incredibly curious, robot Marvin. He (It) is a free spirit that is driven by curiosity and often brings comic relief.

What about Mark Boyett’s performance did you like?

Well read

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

Regarding the "QUIRKS" I will try to explain without spoiling the book. Proceed with caution if you have not read the book. I could not follow why the cyborgs did not need a head. If a creature is based off of a human a head would be an integral part of the being. I could not help but think that it would be incredibly inefficient to remove the head and transpose functions of the brain and eyes elsewhere on the body. This becomes relevant in a battle scene where someone gets decapitated. I actually believe the decapitation scene may become the first flaw in the storyline that may start to unravel this series for me. No book series can go on forever. I am impressed that this series kept me going until book 8. I think I will continue with book 9 just to see if my predictions are correct.

Book 8 already? I'm still interested.
