Charles struggles to get two of his large investments started in America. Charles works in Kansas City and Orlando. Finding the right people for the job is turning out to be more of a challenge than he has experienced up to this time.
Charles gets a disturbing message from Maurice Madison. The man he helped get the Indian Post job in the Dakotas. Gold has been found, and the natives are talking of war while the white miners flood onto Indian Reservation land.
Charles gets involved to save Madison and his wife and is forced to visit Fort Abercrombie to rescue Maurice and his wife.
Charles hires people for Kansas City with Maurice’s help. James Catacomb is called to Kansas City to train the sixty-three new hires.
Charles travels to England with his son, Jonathan, who has just graduated from high school, and his trainer, James Catacomb.
Charles’ trip turns vital when he realizes the livestock needs. He buys a grand piano for his hotel and hires four musicians.
Charles visits Scotland to dispose of an evil man who threatens to murder a family who works for Charles in England. A laborious chore faces Charles when he finds the hideout guarded by eight armed men and a large dog.
Charles returns to America with a family to manage his fruit, vineyard, and orchard in Orlando, and Jonathan is asking the farmer for his daughter’s hand. Charles gets a vision to have Jonathan manage his pig farm in Orlando and returns to America with fourteen large white piglets to begin the one and only large white herd in America.
