A powerful priestess. Her handsome smuggler. A bloody war...

The king wants her for his bride.

But Nelay has no desire to be queen. Not when she can be far more powerful as the High Priestess in the Temple of Fire. Still, she might deign to honor the king's demand request in exchange for rescuing her family from an army lead by the same fae that cursed her years ago.

The coward refuses.

Fine. Nelay doesn't need his army, and she'd sworn off men besides.

There are other ways. Like hiring a smuggler to take her across the unforgiving desert and sneak her behind enemy lines. A smuggler with a penchant for legends and a touch that threatens to melt every hard edge Nelay has honed over the years.

She may just have to rethink swearing off men.

But as her enemy pommels Nelay's kingdom into submission, she realizes a bigger power is at play than that wielded by mere mortals. Perhaps the only way to save the man she's falling in love with and defeat the fae and is to embrace the curse they gave her. A curse that just might reduce her to ashes.

To rise from the ashes, first she must burn.

Can Nelay can stand between the cinders of her once-great nation and the vengeance of the Winter Queen? Will she save her family and the man who stole her heart? Listen to Summer Queen to find out!

Well it's ok

I didn't care for this book as much as the others in the series. Even though the narrator did an awesome job, the story itself just didn't seem as interesting as the others. The author did an amazing job with the world building, characters, descriptions, etc. I just finished listening to the book and all I can really remember about it was it seemed like they were constantly in a battle and Neyla was being married off to different men. This book just didn't grab me and pull me in like the others did.

Not as good as the other books
