A lot has changed in the last six months, and the only sure thing about the future is that more change or volatility, as traders say, will enter markets globally. We are always living in interesting times, and the real key to surviving shifts in government and geopolitical changes is to be aware that the world is in flux and that things will shift. With that said, the changes that we face have patterns and become predictable, i.e., gold bugs will always hide in caves protecting their shiny rocks like mythical dragons, legacy media will deliver breaking news within a framework that fits advertisers propaganda, and governments will seek soft power and increased market share for their nations as they are tasked with representing constituents and preparing their countries for an unknown future that we are all moving toward. Bad Bunny’s Halftime performance was special, and although I didn’t like all of it, it was clear that it was well thought out, inclusive, and offered something for everyone. In a similar manner, the Trump 2.0 Administration has done a lot of things that I don’t like nor understand, but there are a few gems thus far, which I agree with and that will make the world a better place for decades to come. Uncertainty and volatility are already baked into this administration’s cake, so I am expecting there to be a bit of uncertainty in the markets and geopolitically for the next three years. With that said, I am optimistic about many things that are happening in the US and globally, and I think that all have been humbled in the Information-AI Age. It’s clear for national security and to save lives that information regarding what governments are doing shouldn’t be forecasted, and when we think about it, legacy media is in the business of entertainment, not protecting countries and saving lives. People have a right to an opinion, but the truth is that 99.9% of people don’t need to know what a government is doing until it’s done. Increased unpredictability will be a reality for the masses, as we just don’t need to know. This can feel unsettling a bit in the modern era, but when thought about, the outcome will be like Bad Bunny’s performance, meaning you may not like all of it, but there will be something for everyone in it!
