#1 bestselling cosmic horror writer Donald Morrison’s Surviving the Dark is a brutal post-apocalyptic nightmare where humanity is no longer the dominant species—and the predators are evolving.

The world belongs to monsters now. By day, Sarah Kline and her group scavenge the ruins of a fallen civilization, searching for food, supplies, and any sign that humanity still has a future. By night, they hide. Because when the sun falls, the hunters emerge—vampires and werewolves that move through the darkness with terrifying speed and intelligence. Humanity is no longer at the top of the food chain. It is prey.

Everything changes the day Sarah discovers the impossible: a vampire infant, abandoned and vulnerable. But the child is not alone for long. When its parents come, Sarah is forced to confront a horrifying truth—the creatures hunting them are not mindless beasts. They are evolving. They can breed. They can plan. And they will do anything to protect their own.

With the full moon approaching and the predators closing in, Sarah and her group are thrust into a desperate fight for survival against enemies who are stronger, faster, and far more intelligent than anyone ever feared. As the line between hunter and hunted disappears, Sarah must face an unthinkable question: in a world ruled by monsters, is humanity already extinct—and just doesn’t know it yet?

WOW,!!! Virtual Voice wasn't bad but OMG if they had Sean Runette, Ray Porter etc. narrating this it would be phenomenal .

Its a new take on Vampire/Werewolves post apocalyptic world. TONS of new scenerios, characteristics ideas etc.

Sarah and a group of 4 other survivors go out scavanging for their "camp" of about 50 people. The world had been overrun with Vampires and not quite as many werewolves. (I know it sounds cheesy but I promise it is NOT). The find something while scavenging and bring it "home" The feral Vamps show up & want it back but the survivors are not willing to part with it. So the attacks begin. Luckily for them the vampires sleep in nests during the day and NOTHING wakes them. If you can find them during the day you can stake a whole nest without any of them every waking.

As you can imagine everything goes wrong. I'm praying there is a book #2!!!

Please splurge and get a human reader. Like I said the virtual Voice isn't bad but with this good of writing, character development, storyline etc. It really needs a human to make you feel you're right there with them

I'm downloading everything I can find from this author -If the other books are just half as good as this one I'll be over the moon with it. PLEASANTLY surprised!..........off to purchase as many of his books as I can.

I have 3789 titles this is one of my top 10
