Curvy single mom and the wounded hero. Together in a brother's best friend romance.

She's my best friend's little sister. A single mom who doesn't have time to waste on an older, wounded ex-mercenary. She's off-limits.

And yet, I still moved to her hometown.

I blame it on the job offer and the therapy I get at one of the top rehab centers for wounded heroes. The truth, though… I came to Whiskey Run because Abby Campbell and her daughter are here.

You see, once upon a time, I was a man lost. Lost in pain. Lost in addiction. Abby's sweet face is how I climbed out of the black hole I'd been surviving in since my accident.

I've traded one addiction for another, though, and despite how much I love her, I know I might not be enough. I might not be the man she needs… no matter how much I want to be.

Sweet Addiction is a wounded hero, single mom, brother's best friend, age gap, small-town romance. The Whiskey Men: Wounded Heroes series is about a group of wounded ex-mercenaries. They each have their own battles to fight, but with the love of a woman, they no longer have to do it alone. Each book in the series can be enjoyed as a standalone.

I am touched how Abby doesn’t let Jace’s injury deter her from wanting him. Soldiers have a hard time returning home and having someone to love and help them means the world. Great story.

Love trumps all

I had gotten teared up so much during this read. To fall in love with a disabled vet. He (Davis) is depressed and a recovering opioid addiction. He feels like he is not worth his best friend's sisters love. Who has loved him so far long. I love this read. Smiles, tears, and so much swooning. I loved the narration.

I TRUELY LOVE THIS READ

I'm glad they came to their senses and didn't let other people's interest or disinterest get in the way. The interactions with the daughter were touching. I really liked this couple

Abby and Davis... Wow! They both have their struggles but they attempted to make each other feel loved regardless of their insecurities and they helped each other to see their value. I really enjoyed that about this story. I would have like a little bit more about their history but it's okay. The supporting characters were also sweet. I appreciate the sensitivity to disability.
