One girl. Two boys. Three trimesters of school. Who will win?

I have a plan for my senior year. Graduate valedictorian, defend my state swimming title, and get a full ride scholarship to my dream school. I can’t afford to let anything distract me, including my crush on Paul. Then I get a new teammate in the pool. Andrea is my biggest rival, and her older brother, Dylan, is the hot swimmer everyone is after. He’s a troublemaker and the exact opposite of me. When Dylan asks me out, I’m not sure what to do. He might be the distraction I need to forget about my performance anxiety and Paul’s rejection. But is dating Dylan too good to be true? I’m about to find out.

Dive headfirst into book one of the Love is a Triathlon series and swim along with Ash during the first trimester of her senior year. Swimming Upstream is a sweet sports romance with swoon-worthy young adult characters. Listen and float along with the beginning of Ash’s story as she dips into dating, first kisses, and first love.

This YA novel is about Ash, the defending state champ of her swim team, as her perfect senior high school year spirals out of control with team rivals, cute boys, and unexpected drama! I listened to the audiobook and Charlotte did a great job with the narration. It’s first person POV so it really feels like Ash is telling the story right to you. Definitely a great fit of a narrator for a YA book! The romance has characters you root for (Paul for sure!) and characters you love to hate (won’t mention for spoilers, but youll know exactly who I mean!) Content level has no spice, but some kissing and undershirt touching. Mostly sweet but would say it’s for older teens. Recommended if you like American High School athletics settings, mixed with slice-of-life + teen drama + first-love romance with a slight love triangle!
