Cormac’s life used to be about racing hover cycles and partying on orbital stations. Fighting Syndicate sponsored assassins, uncovering ancient alien technology, and hiding his identity from Luna’s authorities are rather recent additions to his list of priorities.

He’s not alone, but that doesn’t make his life any simpler. Kiera, the exotic Earth maiden more versed in shooting a bow on horseback than riding in the passenger seat of a speeder. Mal, his childhood friend turned famous linestream actress. Nova, the cyborg killer who knows far more than she’s letting on.

With the help of his father’s legacy, Cormac has become more than he once was. Whether his newfound power leads him down a righteous path or a more interesting one remains an open question.

I found this book highly entertaining. It's Iron Man without Tony Stark being an absolute genius, but still a shallow individual 💯. Straight 🔥

I don't know why the reviews aren't better!

This is my first introduction to Edmund Hughes' writing and I was very impressed with his style. The opening dramatic scene was shocking, severe and poignant. From the cover art I was hoping it wasn't another harem novel and, as far as this book goes, it hadn't turned out that way; although, there was plenty of intimate encounters taking place. While these encounters were adult in nature, they weren't exploitative or harmful.

The plot itself was interesting but for all the intrigue, suspense, drama and romance there wasn't a lot of plot movement and, regrettably, it ended with a couple of gaping holes. Specifically, while the boss battle at the end was well done, the author left the final disposition of the antagonist somewhat vague. The author also left the identity of those responsible for the MC's family's assassinations still vague and nebulous. The MC is also not very likable, mostly coming off as a alcoholic loser who pines over the loss of his family but doesn't hesitate at a chance to bed every female that approaches him.

5 stars for Alex Ford for her excellent narrating performance of the story.

Well written adult-themed book
