My mission was to kill the vampire,
I never expected him to be my fated mate.

The assignment was simple: move next door, follow him, and gather evidence.
Except I broke the rules.

When I find myself trapped and alone with the adversary,
Mesmerized by his sculpted body and sapphire blue eyes.

I forget that we’re natural enemies.
And my family believes his death will preserve the human race.

But with each passing moment,
I question whether I can live without him.

Falling in love with him makes me a traitor.
And my mate will sacrifice everything to keep me.

Now, I must choose: my mission or my heart.

Taken by the Shifter Enemy (Eternal Hunters Series Book 1) ~~ This book pulled me in fast. I read part of it on Kindle and switched back and forth to Audible, and honestly, it worked perfectly in both formats. The enemies-to-lovers tension between the vampire FMC and the shifter MMC is front and center right away, and I loved how the story didn’t waste time getting to the conflict. There’s mistrust, forced proximity, and that constant push-pull where neither one wants to admit what’s really happening.

What really worked for me was the worldbuilding. The Eternal Hunters universe feels dangerous but controlled, and I liked that the romance didn’t magically fix everything overnight. The chemistry builds in layers, and the emotional stakes are just as important as the supernatural action. This was a solid start that made me immediately want Book 2.
