Most people don’t lose themselves all at once. They drift.

In Tales of the Self, Jorge Armenteros explores the quiet, often unnoticed moments when life begins to feel strangely distant—when we start performing instead of choosing, surviving instead of living, and fulfilling roles while slowly stepping away from ourselves.

This audiobook is not a guide to self-improvement or reinvention. There are no steps to follow, no urgency to change, no demand to be different. Instead, each story invites a pause—a moment of recognition.

You may hear yourself in a familiar conversation, an unexamined decision, or the realization that nothing is “wrong,” and yet something is missing.

You were never broken. You were interrupted.

This audiobook exists to help you notice where that happened—and to remember the self that’s been waiting patiently ever since.

I don't normally listen to audio books. Tales of the Self enticed me with four descriptive words "Remembering Who You Were". With stories and all too familiar scenarios, the author reminds you of the part of you that you may have left behind. What are you missing today and why? How can you find a part of you that was lost? The narrator has a very pleasant and calming voice. She is compassionate and compelling as she takes you along on this journey. You want to follow her. This book is well worth a listen. I recommend Tales of the Self.
