From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a compelling story about love's softening effects on even the most guarded of hearts.

The first time single father Spence Kimball set eyes on Natasha Stanislaski, he was floored by her exotic beauty. But the former ballet dancer turned toy shop owner had a fiery temperament that kept men safely at bay. Sensing a hidden wound, Spence and his little girl joined forces to find a way into her closely guarded heart. For Spence realized he'd do anything to tame Natasha's fears...and show her how to love.

I really liked the depth of this story, and the characters rang true. I will continue with the series.

Sweet

An Americanized immigrant toy shop owner meets a widowed father who has a charming daughter. A love story ensues. The characters are likable and the evolution of the story is predictable. That said, it was an easy listen and I enjoyed it.

Predictable, but still a nice listen

I think it’s important to remember this book is 31 years old. It was written when our Beloved Nora Roberts wasn’t the polished, exceptional writer she is now. In a time when no didn’t always mean no. Before Me Too. BUT I still think the bones of the story are good. I like the characters.

I do agree, however, that the performer was a little obvious with the accents.

Not bad, but not great

I love All things Nora Roberts and enjoyed the story. BUT the narrator made the heroine sound like an old vampire movie! Her Russian accent was awful, just not realistic at all.

Awful Narrator
