This was a short but creepy tale of a mother who died when her son, Rafe, was 10 years old. Little does he know what is in store for his life. An intriguing idea and a good short tale when you want something quick and a bit scary. The author is also the narrator of the audiobook and she does a pretty good job if you speed up the reading. I was given the chance to listen to this audiobook through Story Origins and chose to review it.

This was my first experience with Barbara Henslee's work and I found it intriguing. I plan to look into more of her writing. Although this is a short story, it had a great impact and caused me to experience a moment of horrified what if? I recommend it to others who enjoy psychological horror stories. Barbara Henslee's narration is great as her prosaic style adds to the horrific impact of the tale. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

This was quite an interesting story it ended in an unexpected way and with the writer also being the narrator it makes it more appealing so if you like surprise endings you need this story

Great book

One thing I really can’t stand is authors who narrate their own stories. This is the third one I’ve listened to and they’ve all sounded dull and listless.

My gripes with the narration aside; This story is fantastic. Unfortunately, that’s about all I can say. I can’t talk about what I enjoy with this story without spoiling it. I’m not going to spoil it because I know some people get upset with spoilers and I aim to keep all my reviews spoiler-free.

I really hate those reviews that are just a summary of the book or even worse, a summary of the summary. So all I can really say without spoiling it or summarizing it is how well done it is. This is a story I’d recommend to my friends if I had any.
