Ranger Andy Pickard and new partner Logan Daggett become involved in an investigation of killings and stolen cattle, and find themselves in the middle of a four-way fight, among two powerful cattlemen, a group of masked vigilantes called "regulators", and a hired assassin. Old resentments, mixed loyalties, and misplaced trust feed the flames of battle. Andy and Logan may lose their jobs, even their lives, before their work is done.

This is the last book about Andy Pickard. In this book there is a range war between two families that has hated each other for ever. Andy and his new partner is in the middle of it. There is plenty of action in this book. There is a good story line. This was my favorite book in this series. I thought all was good. These books needs to be listened to in order. They change alot from book one. Starting out it's more about Rusty than it turns into Andy. This is a movie in your mind style of book with several narrators. (Dramatized).
