A compilation of short horror stories. Some were accepted for publishing in anthologies or ezines that, for one reason or another, never came to fruition, and others are just nasty little chunks of my brain that fell off over the past several years. Monsters and monstrous people doing devilish things in likely violent and ill-tempered ways.

There's everything to like about this collection of short stories. Each gets right to the point. Savory characters. Unsavory thoughts and actions. Authentic and believable dialogue. Odd, creepy, supernatural, or unexplainable interactions. A sense of wonder and occasionally disgust. Flesh and blood ... or is that dinner? Narration by Phillip McKaughan is silky smooth and deliciously dripping with sarcasm when appropriate. At 1.8x he sounds just like actor David Costabile (Breaking Bad, Billions) with the effect of pulling you into his irresistible web of tales. If you can't tell, I enjoyed every sloppy moment of this book and nearly shed a tear when it ended. [Disclosure: I received this title for free and listened at 1.85x.]

Visceral, no-nonsense, bite-sized, tasty medley
