Meh.

It was ok for an Audible Escapes title but I’m glad I didn’t spend a credit on it. A bit boring and repetitive at times—her constant anxiety about student loan payments certainly didn’t help my anxiety about mine—and just ridiculously unbelievable at times. Also, I almost stopped listening because of the male narrator. His wasn’t the most natural of deliveries and a smoker’s rasp is never sexy. Also, I completely agree with another reviewer: More sex, please! Fantastic writers with really unique stories (like Diana Gabaldon or Camilla Monk) can get away with less sex/really slow build to sex, but most books in this genre need some spice in order to hold the reader’s interest.

This was a cutesy contemporary romance book. Perfect for playing while cleaning or running errands.

Enjoyable Fast Paced Romance

Over a year ago I read "The Allure of Dean Harper" and was so happy with that book that I sought out more books by author R.S. Grey in hopes for another fun romance to get caught up in. I found The Allure of Julian Lefray and placed it on my Wish List. I am glad I did. It was entertaining and sometimes Laugh Out Loud funny. It was charming and sometimes a bit steamy but mostly it was just filled with chemistry between the two love interest. Towards the end of the book do I realize that this book is actually the lead in book to "The Allure of Dean Harper" and introduces us to the next romance couple. Although I found this book entertaining and having me want to see what came next I didn't find it as all entertaining and HOT as I did with "The Allure of Dean Harper". It was good but slightly paled in comparisons.

If you are thinking of purchasing this book I say go ahead and do it. You will enjoy the ride. And then go ahead and purchase "The Allure of Dean Harper" for it only gets better in that story.

Not for me

The writing is good. The humor is good. The plot and storyline were boring. Nothing about this book was bad, it just needed more. If you’re looking for just a straight up romance with no storyline other than the male and female leads fall in love, than this is the book for you.
