I got this audiobook after dealing with a coworker who always twists things around. I didn’t know how to stand up for myself without feeling rude. This helped me a lot. It gave me simple ways to say no and feel okay about it. I also liked the parts about how to spot guilt-tripping and gaslighting. I’ve already started using a few of the ideas at work, and I feel way less stressed.

I grabbed this audiobook after a particularly frustrating week dealing with a coworker who knows exactly how to push every button. You know the type—passive-aggressive with a side of condescending. I was fed up and wanted something practical, not fluffy advice about "just stay calm."

This audiobook delivered. What I liked most was how real it felt. No sugarcoating, no pretending that staying polite always works. It gave me actual strategies to handle tough conversations without feeling like I was spiraling or losing my cool. There was a part about setting limits that made me pause and think about how often I let things slide just to avoid conflict.

What really stuck with me were the parts that helped me stop second-guessing myself. I’ve been using some of the suggested responses and mindset shifts, and it’s made interactions way less draining. Not perfect—because people will still be people—but I’m not walking away from every conversation feeling defeated anymore.

If you’ve got someone in your life who constantly drains your energy or twists things around, this audiobook might give you exactly the reset you need.

Learning how to be a person who has an excessive interest is the best way to build society. I have seen how difficult it is to deal with difficult people. The author taught me that psychologists usually stay focused on people who are having difficult dealings with. Being nice is not good because if you always agree with someone, you may lack interest. There’s a lot of great stuff in this book, and I will listen to it again.
